Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the role is to lead a team to design, deliver and develop digital and classroom based technical and developmental training programmes for our people. 

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

Team Leader

  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Set clear team goals
  • Develop plans, delegate tasks, and set deadlines
  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching

 Subject Matter Expertise

  • Identify appropriate learning approach
  • Conduct needs assessment
  • Design material and training course content (including videos, quizzes, and activities).
  • Set learning objectives for each course
  • Determine evaluation criteria
  • Organise physical and digital resources for instructors and trainees
  • Provide supporting manuals and guidelines to support content
  • Follow up with trainees and instructors after each course to assess implementation and gather feedback
  • Research and recommend modern educational methods

 Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key colleagues and other relevant parties
  • Develop communication and engagement plans
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to deliver relevant and quality output

 Technical Expertise

  • Work experience of 2 years as an Instructional Designer or similar role
  • Work experience with Learning Management Software (LMS)
  • Good knowledge of video editing software
  • Ability to write clear instructional manuals and guides

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ work experience as an instructional designer
  • Relevant instructional design qualification desirable
